Description
Sialolithiasis involving the submandibular gland is simple to diagnose using clinical and radiological methods. The following patient also suffered from severe inflammation with pronounced glandular congestion. The lithectomy procedure, performed via an axial incision of the duct, is depicted in detail. The insertion of a catheter to prevent subsequent ductal stenosis is also demonstrated. Following antibiotic therapy and removal of the catheter, the successful result of procedure can be seen.
