Structure

  1. Goal and indications for apical root resection
  2. Systematics of the surgical procedure, taking into account anatomically hard-to-reach zones:
Resection technique for lower molar 46
Resection technique for upper molar 16 with a vestibular approach
Resection technique for upper molar 16 with a palatal approach
Resection technique for lower premolar 45 near the mental nerve
    Technique of retrograde root filling

Description

The goal of root tip resection is to supplement incomplete endodontic therapy. The indications for resection are clearly demonstrated by 3-dimensional CGI.

Based on several clinical cases, resection techniques in anatomically problematic zones are presented, such as the resection of the palatal root of 16 and 45 in the immediate vicinity of the mental nerve. The technique of retrograde root filling with thermoplastic root filling material is also presented.
