Description

The cause of an inadequate prosthesis fit is often progressive alveolar ridge atrophy with a residual flabby ridge. Surgical correction by wedge excision with sufficient bone support usually results in a drastic improvement of prosthesis fit. If high-sitting fibrous bands cause interference, correction with a VY or a Z-plasty is easily possible. The procedure is shown in detail in this film.
