Description

The classic signs of inflammation are presented in a very striking manner during the clinical case demonstrations. The diversity of odontogenic infections in the jaw and facial region can be explained by the different points of entry for pathogens, the spectrum of pathogens themselves, and the immune response of the infected individual. Each clinical case illustrates the symptoms, diagnostic findings, and the detailed steps of specific local anesthesia in the inflamed area, followed by drainage through abscess incision. Antibiotic and physical therapies, such as iodine iontophoresis, are also discussed.
