In these two young patients, the operative removal of a retained premolar 15 using a palatal approach and a premolar 45, in close proximity to the mental nerve, is visualized. Typical intraoperative pitfalls are discussed. The importance of proper preoperative radiological evaluation, which dictates the appropriated surgical approach, is also highlighted.
