Description
The removal of a retained upper canine is often quite difficult due to the close proximity of the neighboring roots. Careful radiological evaluation is essential to ensure that the correct surgical approach can be selected. The film visualizes surgical tactics and operative technique and highlights the many typical pitfalls associated with the procedure with the help of two patients. In one case, a palatal approach was used, followed by dental bisection. In the other case, a high vestibular approach was used, followed by bisection of the crown and cystectomy.
