Description

This movie leads us to one of the most remarkable coral reefs of the Maldivian Ari Atoll. A Swiss-German team of divers explores the reef under the special guidance of Herwarth Voigtmann, a renowned underwater photographer. A legend has it that the name of the reef is due to the fact that the local fishermen fished nothing but fish heads with their fishing rods as the endless number of predator fish got the catch before the fishermen were able to surface it. Getting to the place takes a cruise of an hour by Dhoni. Meanwhile Herwarth Voigtmann, a most experienced diving instructor as well, is providing the team with an extensive briefing about the numerous grey reef-sharks and about an unusually curious Napoleon Lip fish, also known a humphead wrasse, living at this reef. The Napoleon fish is the biggest fish of the kind of Labridae. Over the years the reef became famous for the abundant diversity of species and has made the place so very attractive. Exploring the reef at nighttime shows another facet of this magic place.
